Not everyone has a favourite or special colour but those who do can define it down to an exact shade. I asked a number of people to indicate on a chart with 1100 colours which one was "theirs". I then bought a 1/4 litre of paint and painted a 2 x 2 meter background and photographed the subject in front of it. Each person was then asked to write a short text explaining why this was their special colour. This is the result.
