Marjolijn Witzenhausen - Purple

Actually purple is not my colour, it's my grandmothers', the mother of my father, Johanna Witzenhausen. She was a striking, self assured, attractive woman with penetrating eyes and always well dressed. I always admired that as a child, she was beautiful. In my memory she wears a lilac or purple dress and an antique necklace, the one on the photo.
The strange thing is that I almost always choose purple when looking for a festive dress. I never did this consciously, it was my husband who pointed it out to me. Purple isn't really my colour at all.
